“ A cute new spot serving a seriously crazy brunch with funky wallpaper and even funkier drinks ! I would highly recommend the short rib omelette and also the chicken and waffles. Everyone is super friendly and attentive. I cannot wait to come back for dinner! ”
“ What a fantastic experience! I have to say that the level of service was great! We had the chance to talk to the owner which really made it an even more of an amazing experience! Definitely recommend the truffle parmesan mushroom rigatoni without a doubt. If it was not improper to do so I would have licked my entire plate because it was that great! It’s great to see a new style of restaurant that has the bar stay open late and isn’t a dive bar in the Kearny area. 10/10! ”
“ We had an amazing brunch experience. The service was really good. Our server was attentive and made sure we were happy with our choices. I would recommend Mimosa we ate the avocado toast with side of smoked salmon and pouched eggs and the double smash burger with fried egg fried onions and bacon. The truffle fries were made to perfection. You can taste the quality ingredients. So many brunch items on the menu as well. We will definitely be returning! ”
“ Great spot for a delicious meal. Denizen's is a bright, airy, and classy place for a casual meal or date night. Love the large windows that are left open during summer giving you the feel of an outdoor patio. Food is delicious and our server, Luan, was very attentive and helpful. Highly recommend the burrata salad - the dressing is perfect. The only complaint is that the music, though I loved the playlist, can be a little too loud to have a conversatiom without raising your voice unnecessarily. Absolutely fantastic spot, other than that detail. ”
“ This restaurant is right around the corner of my home and I've always wanted to go here. They have live music on Friday nights and the band plays lovely music. We ordered some wings, rigatoni pasta with breaded chicken and some mashed potatoes. They have a limited dinner menu but the food is scrumptious. I extremely loved the ambience of this place. They have a really warm and cozy vibe at night. The service is so good! Sebastian served us the whole time and he was very kind and cordial. Overall, the experience was a pretty happy one! ”
“ Denizen’s has become our new favourite spot for dinner and chill evenings out. We first heard of it through word of mouth and once we visited (for a fantastically fun and memorable drag show) we just fell in love with the atmosphere, company and food. You’ll find the staff of Denizen’s Bistro to be exceptionally welcoming, professional and non intrusive. The restaurant itself has various seating options, inside and out, and is a warm, fun space with a striking aesthetic. Very often they have live music. It’s the perfect place for dates, girls night out and brunch. When it comes to the food... it’s all perfect. It’s really hard not to order the truffle fries more than once on the same night out! My partner loves the crab cakes and I always find the side salads to be really tasty. When I ordered the half chicken au vinaigrette I was delighted by how incredibly good it was. The kitchen puts a lot of care into everything they serve. The same can be said for the drinks. The bartenders, who are so friendly, make such good drinks. I’ve been having fun trying all the different cocktails they offer. They happen to have the perfect Bellini at brunch, by the way. I keep finding myself telling friends to try Denizens! You’ve got to visit here! ”
“ Beautifully designed local bar/restaurant with a wide open concept and side walk seating allows for al fresco dining in the warm months. This place brings a much needed upscale vibe to a small town known for take out eateries and dive bars. It also has a very chic vibe with Latino-Caribbean style, elevating the experience to bars reminiscent of San Juan or Cartagena and giving this Kearny spot an edge against local competition in Jersey City, Hoboken, and Montclair. Drinks are high quality and food is delicious and wonderfully plated. The service is really friendly and attentive, the owner was there to greet us, as well. We came for an evening cocktail, so there was a DJ setup and space to dance. Really an awesome addition to the town and I wish them much success. We'll be back! ”
